Last weekend, I went to NYC to see the band White Lies. It was on Friday night, and in fact I only found that out on Thursday night. So at 2am the night before, I bought a ticket for the show and a bus there. On the Friday itself I found out that luckily my friend Eamonn Bell was able to offer me a bed for Friday night.
A great gig! It was on in the Bowery Ballroom, which is pretty damn small (fits about 600 people or so). If you get a change, catch a gig there.
A bit ridiculous that the cost of the show ($30) plus the return journey on the bus ($30) is less than what the show would have cost in Ireland.
