Great trip to Seattle. Went there to visit Gráinne, my evil twin (i.e. also studies statistics, also Irish, was in same undergrad). And of course I have the photos up!
The picture above is of Seattle's glorious Gum Wall. Sad times though, I didn't have any on me. Would have expected someone there selling gum to assholes like me, but nope (eh, I probably wouldn't have bought any anyway).
The coffee in Seattle was... good. Definitely good. Just not the mecca I had heard it might be. Guess their neighbours down in Portland probably have them beat. Still though, plenty of decent spots.
UW is a pretty gorgeous campus, although my photos didn't really capture it well. I blame the lighting...
Bought a sweet jacket from a Seattle-based clothing store called Tarboo. Rather hilariously, a girl who works in the shop recognised me in a bar later on in the week: "you're the Irish guy who bought the jacket!" - she wasn't even in the store when I bought it, so she obviously was told about me, and recognised me by the jacket... I'll take it.
For any fans of House of Cards, a nice Underwood typewriter:
